Educational psychology assessments in schools across Essex and Suffolk

Dr Kathleen Gayton provides collaborative assessments and consultations, working in partnership with schools and families. Schools are welcome to commission one-off assessments or regular visits. Kathleen works in mainstream and specialist schools.

Assessments are holistic and explore factors impacting on a child’s learning and inclusion including:

  • Cognition and learning needs
  • Supporting neurodivergent children (including autism and ADHD)
  • Specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia and dyscalculia)
  • Attention, memory, information processing and executive function
  • Social communication and social relationships
  • Emotional wellbeing in school
  • Supporting children who have experienced developmental trauma
  • Understanding young people with complex needs and planning for the future

The assessment includes a feedback and next steps consultation to discuss the child’s needs and next steps for support.

Following an assessment, schools and families receive a comprehensive written report.
